Artist’s Statement

This painting explores the idea that we all carry many sides within us—joy and sorrow, light and  shadow, boldness and vulnerability. Using bright,  flowing colors and the Cubist style, I wanted to show how different emotions can live together in one person. The warm side of the face represents  confidence, creativity, and hope, while the cool side reflects quiet strength, reflection, and calm.

Creating this piece helped me realize that it’s okay to  be a mix of many feelings. That’s what makes us  human. Through this work, I hope others see that they don’t have to hide any part of themselves. All  our sides—seen and unseen—are beautiful.
